CURRICULUM: ART AND HEALTH
Visual Art. Students find their creative voices through a wide range of artistic experiences that simultaneously develop observational and fine motor skills and critical thinking. Lessons cover both innovative and traditional media, ranging from paint and paper to clay and plastecine. In addition, classes include studies in art history, art appreciation, artistic analysis, and self-expression.
Music. Through active involvement in singing, playing, and rhythmic activities, students learn musical concepts and skills while developing confidence in their abilities. At the Primary level we introduce basic musical instruments and vocal theory; in later years the focus broadens to include woodwind and percussion instruments, as well as additional vocal technique.
