Richland students strive for excellence in everything they do, including sports. Our students are exposed to a breadth of skills appropriate to their development over the course of their elementary education. From a very early age, the physical education curriculum at Richland is designed to develop large motor skills, as well as fine motor skills, and self-regulation. Students experience a program of sports ranging from basketball, soccer, badminton, golf, and track and field. These sports are complemented with other physical training such as yoga and boxing.
Within the program, students have an opportunity to compete for Richland through the Small School Athletic Federation throughout the school year under the guidance of our Athletic Director. Richland students compete in co-educational SSAF events including cross-country running, soccer, basketball, and track and field. Our association with the SSAF provides opportunities for students in Grades 1-8 to compete through our intramural program on a volunteer basis.
Richland students compete with other small private schools from York Region, including Richmond Hill Montessori and Century Montessori; as well as other private schools in the GTA.
