STARTING AT THE CORE—PRIMARY YEARS

In their first years of formal education children receive the fundamentals on which to base their future achievements. Our enriched Core Knowledge program, combined with a focus on virtues and social skills, ensures a balanced school experience and encourages lifelong, enjoyable learning.

Literacy. Structured and intensive programming based in phonics
Mathematics. Classical instruction of basic concepts, Hands-on manipulation drills, Multi-sensory problem solving

Our JK and SK classrooms:

The late Primary grades (1 to 3) build on the foundation of Kindergarten by:
· Enriching language skills through a focus on balanced literacy including studies in phonics, reading exercises, grammar education, comprehension, spelling, and writing
· Achieving written proficiency, with a focus on the mechanics of writing and the organization of thoughts
· Introducing concrete and abstract mathematical concepts and achieving mastery therein through theoretical application, drills, and review
· Nurturing the development of strong problem solving and communication skills
· Developing proficiency in organization and time management
· Enhancing character education to foster confidence and self esteem
