Fire and Life Safety

This week, the Richmond Hill Fire Department visited Richland to discuss Fire and Life Safety with Grade 1-6 students. Students learned about safety in the home, and discussed the true meaning of “emergency,” learning when and how to call 911 and how to communicate the situation effectively to a dispatcher. They also learned the importance of having a safety plan at home and at school. At Richland, we support the review and reinforcement of fire and emergency safety measures at all times, and conduct several procedures throughout the school year.
